In addition to the great golf, drinks, and food, each of the military personnel received a custom fitted Titleist driver during their visit to our learning center. It was the first time for many of these golfers to experience a formal lesson and club fitting session incorporating video analysis and launch monitor technology. Our professional staff had a terrific time getting to spend time working with each of them on their game!

Featuring state of the art clubfitting technology, including the SAM Putt Lab and Flightscope launch monitor, our new facility is well equipped to fit players for every club in their bag. Fitness and flexibility has become an important aspect of every golfer’s preparation. Our professional staff is certified by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) to provide fitness assessments for golfers and customized programs for greater flexibility and improved overall fitness. There is a direct relationship between a player’s physical capabilities and the level of their play.

If you’re interested in improving your swing and learning what you might need to hit shots higher, straighter, or longer make an appointment to visit our instructional studio. Inside the teaching bay you will find high speed cameras, studio lighting, and 2d video analysis tools to help you learn more about your game. Additionally, we now have indoor/outdoor capability with the new climate controlled facility and our lesson schedule is no longer subject to weather conditions. After your first visit you’ll know why so many of the best amateur players and a growing stable of Tour players prefer to work on their game at our club.

Sabrina (age 14) recently finished the 54-hole tournament 4 shots clear of the field to earn the Girls 18 & Under Open Division Title.  Her 54-hole score of 219 (+6) included rounds of 75, 69, 75.  The second round 69 was her first ever sub-70 score and was the individual low round for the entire tournament field (boys and girls) during three days of play at Chateau Elan Golf Club.

This is a well deserved victory for Sabrina and her family.  The entire White Columns Country Club membership and staff celebrates her hard work and special achievement.

This new space will have 3 rooms where we will provide a number of services for members and guests.

As you look at the building from the front, the space on the left is going to be our dedicated club fitting bay. It will be turfed on the inside and have a dedicated putting track. There will be a Flightscope launch monitor that uses radar to read true distance when one of our professional staff is conducting a driver fitting or testing a new set of irons with a player. We will also install a SAM putt lab system which is the premier technology for conducting putter fittings and putting instruction. This bay will also be fully functional during inclement weather, as it features a 12′ roll-up exterior door, retractable netting, and climate control.

The middle room (windows) will be dedicated for golf-specific fitness and stretching. We will be able to host regular Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) fitness seminars and incorporate more fitness elements into our instructional programs.

The room on the right hand side of the building will be the Instruction bay. This space will feature advanced tools and technology for full swing and short game instruction while also having a putting track. Multiple camera angles provide each student with instant video feedback on their progress. This bay is also fully functional during inclement weather, with studio lights and retractable netting enabling video instruction anytime.

Congratulations also go out to Sabrina Long for a very successful debut in the American Junior Golf Association tournament held last month in Ringgold, GA. Sabrina shot rounds of 74-75-71 to finish in 3rd place in her biggest tournament to date!

The final 3-day summer junior golf clinic will be held June 26-28 and is ideal for experienced junior golfers who would enjoy on-course instruction. We provide extensive video and 9-holes of instruction daily while keeping the size limited to 12 juniors. Two spots are available for this fun event. Please register in the golf shop.

Since both Frank Lickliter and Jeff Klauk are entered in the field, it was a unique opportunity for us to play a practice round together on Tuesday morning. Interestingly, Rusty Uresti is on the bag this week working for Jeff. Rusty is a veteran Tour caddy and the brother of PGA Tour player, Omar, who also worked for many years on the bag for Frank. In fact, Frank and Rusty won the 2003 Tucson Open together.

At White Columns Country Club, there are many different ways to enjoy, learn, and play the game with other interested juniors. We have extensive fall and spring after-school clinics, weekly junior play days, parent-junior monthly tournaments, junior club championship, summer golf camps, and access to local, regional, and national junior golf tournaments. Please register for all junior programs in the golf shop or by calling 678.893.7516.

After-school clinics begin in March every year. These clinics are held throughout the months of March, April, May, August, September and October. Weekly group lessons cover different aspects of the game and we try to visit the course as often as possible. In addition to these instructional opportunities, groups of kids are welcome to organize themselves and arrange a private clinic just for their group each month. Simply contact a member of the professional staff to make the arrangements.

Throughout the winter and spring, we hold Sunday junior play days at 3pm. This program is to encourage a regular group of kids to get out and play – with out their parents-on a weekly basis. The golf shop staff pairs up the juniors who show up and send them out to play with new people on a regular basis. Although some of the kids in this group have played summer tournaments, it is not a requirement to participate-we want everybody that can play ready golf on their own to participate.

Additionally, our summer golf camps at White Columns Country Club are very popular. Beginning each June, we dedicate 5 weeks to golf events filled with various lesson activities and extensive on-course instruction. We break for 3 weeks to host the introductory 3-sport (swim, tennis, golf) camps and then we have one final summer golf camp before school resumes in August. Ages 7-15 are invited to attend the summer golf camps.

Annually, we also hold summer Parent/Junior tournaments that encourage parents to show their support for our juniors and have some fun at the same time. We conclude our summer junior golf program with our annual Junior Club Championship. All ages are invited to participate.

This organization provides education, motivational, and health and welfare programs to the Naval Special Warfare community.
